A switch in transparent mode for VTP will do what?

When a switch is operating in transparent mode for the VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP), it does not actively participate in the propagation of VLAN information across the network. Instead, it simply ignores any VLAN updates that it receives from other VTP-enabled switches in the network. The purpose of this mode is to allow the switch to manage its own VLAN configurations without affecting or being affected by the VLAN configurations of other switches.

In transparent mode, while the switch can create and manage its own VLANs, it does not share or learn VLAN information from other switches. This makes it an ideal choice when you want to ensure that a switch can maintain specific VLAN configurations independently, providing a layer of segregation from the VTP domain's VLAN management. Consequently, any VLAN changes made on other VTP switches will not be acknowledged or communicated by the switch in transparent mode, leading to it ignoring updates altogether.
